Meet Péter Kustán
What has your career path been like in Knauf Insulation?
I joined Knauf Insulation at the end of 2018, where I had the opportunity to join the great operators on our main production line. I was fully committed to becoming a full member of the team as soon as possible. I was lucky because I happened to be learning alongside the best all the time.
From the very beginning, I was deeply interested in production technology, and I started to devote more and more of my free time to it. I was motivated, so my supervisors gradually gave me more attention and help to develop. At the end of 2020, I was involved in a project in manufacturing, and the possibility of becoming a Shift Leader was discussed.
From 2021 onwards, the project was a success, so I gradually started to take on Shift Leader position, and from 2022 onwards, the company started to operate 2 shifts again, and I became a shift supervisor. Since then, Knauf Insulation has continued to make progress in many areas.
What do you love the most about your job?
The fact that there are so many opportunities to express my creative side, to find new challenges, to always improve one of our methods, and last but not least, that I have fantastic staff who are partners and even co-creators in this, is also the reason why we have managed to create an atmosphere where we have become not only colleagues, but also friends.
Why do you like working at Knauf Insulation?
Because at Knauf Insulation, people-focus is not just a slogan, it's a daily practice that we prove to our employees year after year.
What professional accomplishment are you the most proud of?
I played a big role in one of the biggest developments, the development of stable main line production with automated planing machines, which I have been controlling and learning more about ever since, and this continuous development and need for knowledge is my driving force. And as a leader I strive to become someone who can be approached with a problem of any nature, will do anything to help solve it, I think this is what has led to the great atmosphere both professionally and personally.
